Tushingham Moore is particularly active in respect of foodstore leasing, development and investments. We are currently advising on some 2,000,000 sq ft of live foodstore situations involving either landlords, developer clients or Tesco, the leading retailer in the UK for whom we are acquiring new stores from smaller formats through to major out of town stores.

Eden Square is a mixed-use scheme situated in the heart of Urmston Town Centre. Phase 1 which opened in Autumn 2008 comprises a 50,000 sq ft Sainsbury's foodstore, 13 retail units and a 630 space car park. Planning consent for Phase 2 has now been achieved and will now provide an additional 35,000 sq ft of retail floor space. Tushingham Moore has provided development funding, compulsory purchase and leasing advice throughout.

Acting for LPC we have provided development advice to create a new District Centre in Salford directly opposite Salford Quays. The scheme, which is under construction, will provide a new Morrisons foodstore of 50,000 sq ft, 11 new retail units and a 156 bed hotel, which has been pre-let to Travelodge. The development will open in October 2011.

The Quays Shopping Centre in Newry has been one of the most successful shopping centre regeneration schemes inNorthern Ireland. Tushingham Moore has advised Parker Green throughout the development since 2000. The original scheme was extended in 2003 to create a new development store for Debenhams (85,000 sq ft) with a number of retailers added to the exciting fashion mix including River Island, Marathon, Waterstones, Vodafone and Ernest Jones. A further Phase 5 extension which has outline consent for 150,000 sq ft is being finalised with a view to commencing onsite during 2011.
